Homefull Country
Writing Poverty, Housing, and Homelessness in Canada
A national anthology of poetry, prose, photography and visual art, published by Northern INK and edited by Patrick Gadoury. The book brings together writers and artists across Canada to look closely at poverty, housing and homelessness.
Planned publication: November 22, 2026 — National Housing Day.
Where the proceeds go
All net proceeds from Homefull Country will support housing work in Canada. Raising the Roof is the current destination of that funding.
Raising the Roof works with local partners to create and operate affordable housing in Canada.
Net proceeds means book receipts after printing, storefront and payment charges, refunds and applicable taxes. The artists and production team have volunteered their work. Northern INK will not charge editorial or promotional labour to the book.
Northern INK will publish a plain summary of receipts, charges and remittances after sales begin. Northern INK is an independent publisher; this project is not a registered charity. A book purchase is not itself a tax-receipted donation.
The book in progress
Poetry is the spine. Prose, documentary photography and visual art broaden the view. A substantial body of work is in hand, and the manuscript is being read, sequenced and refined. The final sequence remains open.
Contributors retain ownership of their work.
